Lab #1: Newspaper Article Summaries

Although we often think of privacy concerns as being a modern phenomenon driven by uses of today’s emerging technologies, the reality is that privacy concerns are not new. Privacy issues have always been a significant part of public discussion in this country. Each generation has brought forth new technologies and advancements and seemingly new privacy issues. In this assignment, students used the New York Times Historical archive to review privacy articles to examine the kinds of privacy issues that have been part of public discussion historically.
