Privacy Timeline

Gov 1430

The Privacy Timeline is being constructed as group work by students in the Gov 1430 at Harvard University in the Fall 2013 semester. The source is the New York Times Historical Collection of news articles appearing in the New York Times from 1852-2009. The current version was assembled by each student taking a time period containing about 200 articles with the word "privacy" and then reviewing and tagging the article as to the kind of privacy discussed in the article, if at all. Displayed on the time line is a heat map of results for each year, omitting those articles that students determined were not applicable.
